Summer Undergraduate Research Program
Each year, the Molecular Biophysics & Structural Biology (MBSB) graduate program accepts approximately four summer students through the School of Medicine Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP). The SURP program aims to provide an exciting ten-week summer research opportunity for undergraduates considering a graduate education in biomedical research. It provides a stipend for the duration of the program. Highly motivated undergraduate students who want to gain research experience in basic molecular biophysics and structural biology are encouraged to apply by the March 1st deadline!
More information about the program and how to apply can be found at the School of Medicine SURP page.
Other Summer Programs
Faculty members in the MBSB program participate in various research programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Undergraduate students who would like to work in laboratories of MBSB faculty are encouraged to contact faculty members directly. You can also explore the undergraduate research information pages at the University of Pittsburgh and CMU.
Research Opportunities for Local Undergraduate Students
Faculty members in the MBSB program may be looking for undergraduate students who can contribute to their research programs on a daily or weekly basis. Local undergraduate students who would like to join the laboratories of MBSB faculty and participate in their research on a regular basis, throughout the year, should contact the faculty members whose research is of interest to them. See this page: MBSB Research Faculty by Area.
